Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her reporting on the streets of Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases resulted in the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI instances. Ms. O'Dell was awarded her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor and investigative reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
